The Old Stables was originally a pair of disused out-buildings built around 1843 and sited in a Conservation Area with a brief to convert into a two bedroom bungalow. By connecting the two halves of the property with a glass atrium the visual impression of two separate buildings was maintained, while creating a light and airy circulation space. The use of roof lights in the vaulted ceilings also added to the over affect of spaciousness.
